IVAN FIRST DISCUSSION
IVAN ON-SITE ASSESSMENT
IVAN WRITTEN QUOTATION
IVAN HIS OWN WORK, OVERSEEN DIRECTLY
LICENSED PLUMBING & ELECTRICAL
OUT STRUCTURAL, ASBESTOS REMOVAL
“Can one person really handle all of this?” It’s a fair thing to ask before anyone starts pulling out your cabinets. The answer comes down to how the work is divided. Ivan Bodnar is an independent sole trader. He handles the first discussion, the on-site assessment, the written quotation and his own part of the work. Regulated plumbing and electrical work goes to appropriately licensed specialists. Before anything starts, the written scope sets out who is doing what.
Reference photo: planning comes before any work, and so does agreeing who is responsible for each part.
A kitchen renovation covers several kinds of work. There’s removal, surface preparation, cabinetry and finishes, and often changes to plumbing or power as well. No single person can lawfully do all of it, and nobody should pretend otherwise.
What matters to you is that every part has a clear owner, the order of work makes sense, and you know who to call. With a sole trader, that last part is simple: you call Ivan. Nobody sits between you and the person who assessed your kitchen.
Ivan went independent so he could deal with homeowners directly and take personal responsibility for the assessment, organisation and standard of his work. He has approximately 15 years’ personal renovation experience. Read more about Ivan Bodnar.
How does the kitchen need to work? Think storage, bench space, cleaning, and which surfaces and fittings are worn. You talk this through with Ivan himself.
The on-site assessment is free. It covers the existing condition, layout, cabinetry, finishes and services. Moisture, substrate and service access are checked before any finishes are recommended.
The free written quotation is prepared after the assessment, never before. It shows which work is Ivan’s and which goes to licensed trades.
Ivan stays directly involved in his part of the work. He coordinates the licensed specialists and keeps you informed as the kitchen comes together.
One person can keep a kitchen renovation on track when the scope is clear and written down. Before you agree to anything, check that the written quotation answers these questions:
What is included, and what isn’t?
Which items are Ivan’s own work?
Which items go to licensed plumbers or electricians?
What does it assume about conditions behind cabinets and walls?
What might you or your owners corporation need to approve?
Contract, insurance and approvals wording is checked for each project rather than assumed.
STATUS — Ivan is an independent sole trader. He does not claim builder registration or trade licences, and he never carries out licensed plumbing or electrical work himself.
NOT OFFERED — Structural engineering, architecture, asbestos removal, and a separately advertised 24/7 emergency service.
CONCEALED CONDITIONS — No inspection can reveal every hidden issue. If something turns up once the cabinets come out, Ivan explains what he has found and talks you through the practical options. What may be behind the cabinets.
FLATS — Access, noise, waste, owners corporation conditions and common property all affect the plan. Scope, permits and licensed trade requirements vary from site to site.
